Vector Equilibrium 由美國哲學家、建築師及發明家 Buckminster Fuller 於 1940年命名，Vector 代表物件的所有邊和線，Equilibrium 表示平衡或相等。

- Archimedean Solids -

這是唯一一件物件，所有線條長度相同。即有線連到中心都一樣長，角度均為60°。這是與platonic solids最大的區別（所有邊都相同，但連到中心的長度及角度不同）。因此，Vector Equilibirum不是plationic solids，是 Archimedean Solids。

- Quantum physics -

但這跟能量有什麼關係呢？從量子物理學來說，這個物件代表能量流動達到完美平衡的終極狀態，從而形成一種沉默和「無」。它也可被視為所有能量的起點。它是零點的概念幾何，空間和統一場的真空狀態。
